Something happened with the SBD tape, beginning with Terrapin Station, where the speed fluctuated much more heavily and frequently, making the project about three times as difficult and requiring much smaller increments to work with. Also, the weird "mid-80's" static in the mix during the second set affected the speed/position slightly at times. I had not worked on a matrix as difficult as this since 9/9/72 (Vol. 64). All this being the case, the second half of the matrix is not quite as stable as the first half, but still pretty good overall.

Best LLR of all time, and my favorite 84 tape!
Hunter works his magic again with this crispy matrix that puts you right there in the hall with the boys.
Looks Like Rain is my all time favorite version, certainly top 5 performance. The last 4 or 5 minutes are total fire --- I love how they jam out --- it's so soulful and funky it is literally begging to be covered by a modern day R&B group. Very sample-able if you dig it.
FWIW, I used to avoid all mid-80s shows because of the keyboard sounds. Brent's toy piano still isn't my favorite, but the "Plinko-style" keyboard he uses is!
The Scarlet coda fires on all cylinders, very unique version with a seamless jammy transition into Touch of Grey.
I love this early, fast, chugging version of Touch of Grey. It's a must hear --- even my 3 year old son was singing along!!
Then the jammy, Plinko-keys heavy version Woman are Smarter is so nice too!
Getting used to Brent's mid-80s (83, 84, 85) keyboard sounds took some getting used to, but this show is the panacea!
